READ ABOUT OUR HISTORY
The Story of the Farm
Moifaa Farm is a small working property in Tamahere, home to cattle, horses, and a growing garden that reflects years of care and creativity. What began as open paddocks has slowly evolved into a peaceful landscape full of colour, texture, and birdlife. Every part of the property, from the tree-lined drive to the poolside gardens, has been shaped by hand, planted with purpose, and grown with love.
The name Moifaa honours a remarkable New Zealand racehorse who survived a shipwreck on his way to England and went on to win the Grand National in 1904. Bred by Kaaren’s great-great uncle, Spencer Gollan, Moifaa’s story is one of courage and endurance, qualities that inspire the spirit of the farm today.
The Gardens
TAKE A WANDER THROUGH
Over the past few years, the gardens at Moifaa Farm have grown into a lush, overgrown haven, a living contrast to the open farmland beyond. Towering trees provide shelter and shade, while native plantings, roses, and flowering shrubs fill the air with colour and fragrance. Paths weave through the greenery, leading to the outdoor fireplace and pool deck, the perfect place to unwind as the sun sets through the trees.
